[Dear Sukheewatchers, here is a re-post from a piece we shared last fall. I just made a quick trip to Sukheeville and discovered that The Sukester still hasn’t listed endorsements from his former fellow Irvine co-conspirators, Larry Agran or Beth Krom. And boy is this interesting: not a single former Irvine councilperson – the folks in Irvine who have seen Sukhee in close up and personal – has endorsed this creep. What does that tell you?]

 

Some guy named Sukhee Kang wants to be our next State Senator. Never heard of him? There’s a good reason for that. You see, Sukhee spent the last few decades living in Irvine, and from 2004-2012 was on its city council and was even mayor of the Mecca of beige stucco. He is mostly known as the second puppet in Larry Agran’s notorious troika that wasted $250,000,000 on the “Great Park” fiasco.

After an embarrassing congressional try in 2012 Sukhee, bailed on Irvine and decided he was going to move to Fullerton, eyeing a soon-to-be open State Senate seat.

It seems that Sukhee really, really wants us to remain ignorant of his calamitous Irvine past and his quick getaway. If you visit his website you will find a whole array of endorsements from Democratic Party politicians, past and present, from up and down the length of California. You will not recognize most of the names because they have little if anything to do with Senate District 29 that includes northwest Orange County.

You will also notice two names that are conspicuously absent from his list: Sukhee’s fellow Great Park conspirators Larry Agran and Agran’s other puppet, the notoriously dimwitted, cadmium red-dyed Beth Krom.

Now why would Sukhee want to omit the names of his two long-time comrades, folks he proudly stood shoulder to shoulder with during their eight-year monopoly of power in Irvine?

Is Sukhee really ashamed of his record in Irvine and his servility to Agran? It sure looks that way. And who can blame Sukhee? If you or I had squandered a quarter of a billion dollars of public money, we would probably want to hide our past dubious associations, too.

It’ “local”. Local to somewhere!

Sukhee Kang has a little problem. How do you introduce yourself to the voters when you are trying hard as Hell to keep them from knowing you moved into their community for one reason only: to run for office.

A friend of mine got a piece of political Sukheemail yesterday and quickly recognized that while Sukhee claimed experience as a “local mayor,” he didn’t say where he was mayor, which of course was Irvine – nowhere near the 29th State Senate District.

Most politicians just love to talk all about their accomplishments. Poor Suhhee can’t for two very good reasons. First, his record as Mayor of Irvine was a disastrous kaleidoscope of embarrassment, carrying water for the crooked and yet remarkably inept Boss Agran.

Everybody now knows about the Great Park failure and all the attendant graft, just like they know about the $16 per ride Irvine iShuttle. Second, Sukhee can’t even mention Irvine anyhow , because if he does, he will just re-emphasize the stinky carpetbagger aroma he has cultivated around himself.

Well, it looks like a book cover. That’s a real powerful possibility.

In reality, it’s one of those stupid and humiliating “vanity” books that you pay to have published to make yourself look good; or at least semi-literate. And nobody is fooled. Ever.

And so “author” Sukhee Kang regales a would-be reader with the utterly unremarkable story of an immigrant who just had the good sense to hightail it out of some Third World mess for greener pastures in States. The story’s been told a million times.

Look closely and please note the reference to Irvine under The Sukester’s elbow : a “major city.” Only in the ego-driven mind of the former Mayor of Irvine does this banal little pond of beige stucco qualify as a major American city. But that fiction goes right along with his claim of Irvine making a fictional FBI “safest city” list.

So far we have seen Sadsack Sukhee as a phony professor. Well hell, Perfesser got to write a book, no? It’s publish or perish for the man whose ballot statement claims to be a “university educator.”

Back in 2014, before she got herself artfully unelected to the California State Assembly, Sharon Quirk Silva decried the carpetbagging of her opponent, Young Kim. Kim was b-a-a-a-a-d because she got herself an apartment address somewhere in the district and ran for office. The Horror!

But now, in 2016, because her party leaders have dictated that it must be so – or maybe because she now thinks carpetbaggery really ain’t so bad after all – Ms. Quirk-Silva is supporting the completely obscene carpetbagging of Mr. Sukhee Kang, the incompetent Irvine Master of Disaster. So which is it, Sharon?

What a difference a coupla’ years make.

 

 

 

Fullerton Rag Calls Out Dems on Sukhee

The Fullerton Rag blog has called out the carpetbaggin’ former Mayor of Irvine Sukhee Kang for…carpetbaggin.’ They also point out the disgusting lock step endorsements of the Dem party apparatus whose members couldn’t care less that Sukhee Kang moved here to run for office, and just as bad, left a stinking pile of a disaster in Irvine.

Here’s my favorite quotation:

Mr. Kang’s website displays a list of Democratic Party endorsements longer than the distance between his former home in Irvine and our 29th District.

The Rag also points out, quite accurately, that Sharon Quirk Silva has endorsed this pathetic career politician wannabe. In 2014 she denounced her Assembly opponent as – you guessed it – a carpetbagger! Well, we’re used to shameless hipocrisy in pea-brained politician but that really takes the cake.

What do you mean there’s a place called Fullerton?

Some commenters here have wondered how a nobody like Sukhee Kang, well, worse than a nobody – an incompetent nobody with a disastrous record as a politician in a whole other part of the County – could get a bunch of endorsements from his fellow Democrats to run for office in north OC.

Here’s how it works: Sukhee gets in bed early with a politically ambitious Democant big shot, like say, State Senator Kevin de Leon, who is already running for his Next Big Job. Most likely Sukhee has pay some sort of monetary tribute to de Leon to buy his support, because you always look for the cash nexus in politics.

And now The Word comes down from On High in Sacramento that Sukhee is The Man. And not for a single, solitary reason anybody can be proud about. Small fry like Quirk and Correa, and even smallest fry like Galloway and Brandman get on board because they can see that bucking  de Leon & Co. is going to be dangerous, maybe fatal to their once and future plans.

Anyway, they don’t care at all about the ethics of carpetbagging because they have done, or may likely do it themselves someday, and really, what’s the harm so long as their own ambitions are gratified?

Political insiders have no qualms about carpetbagging, or even the intelligence and competence of candidates. These things don’t matter to the class of political chatterers; Hell, they don’t even hold it against the other party’s candidates when they do it. What matters is the Main Chance and the ability to maybe catch the ride before a train leaves the station.

In 2009 just about every Republican office holder and insider backed the ridiculous Assembly scampaign of Linda Ackerman, whose suit was stuffed with lobbyist bucks and very little else. I can’t remember any of them that didn’t endorse the wretched carpetbagtress.

In 2010 the Democrat’s Lorraine Galloway pretended to move into a County Supervisor district. She not only faked an address, she faked THREE. Any round condemnation from the party? Of course not. Why? For awhile she was seen as a plausible candidate, instead of a featherhead with the intelligence of one of the stuffed animals she keeps on her bed.

And now in 2016 we have Sukhee Kang, the former Irvine mayor whose political appetites could no longer be satisfied there due to the inescapable facts of the Great Park disaster. So instead he and the Democratic Party apparatus cynically decide to foist  this miscreant on us as a way to mine Korean votes in a district that is currently held by a Republican.

Who cares? Not Lou Correa. Not Sharon Quicksilver. They sold out quite some time ago. But we care and are eager to spread the gospel.

I’ve heard on the grapevine that Democrat Party loyalists are mad at Fullerton’s Josh Newman for having the effrontery to run for State Senate against their hand-picked carpetbagger, Sukhee Kang, recently Mayor of Irvine and waster of over 200 million doubloons on the Great Park, that isn’t great, and isn’t a park, either.

Apparently, these party apparatchiks have been trying their level best to torpedo Newman’s campaign. That’s pretty unfair and mean, but these people are not without their humorous side. For instance, their plaint: why doesn’t this Newman guy run for Fullerton City Council? – as if that were some sort of obligatory stepping stone for a politician to take.

Well, that’s nonsense of course, but it got me a-thinkin’. Why doesn’t Sukhee Kang, the Irvine Escapee, who moved into Fullerton a mere 8 months ago, run for the Fullerton City Council? I mean, here’s a stooge who knows nothing about north Orange Country except that he seems to think we are ripe for his political plucking. Shouldn’t he be starting on the lowest rung?

The answer, of course, springs readily to mind: Sad Sack Sukhee couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Fullerton because nobody knows who the hell he is and he has zero record of community service here. And yet somehow Democrat party fixers and bag men in Sacramento think he’s fit to represent us in the Legislature.

Last month the Democratic Foundation of OC held a luncheon for our old carpetbaggin’ pal at the Irvine Hilton. This group of worthies seems to find nothing stinky about honoring a carpetbagger with a disastrous record. Maybe being a Democrat in OC raises the disgraced politician above that disgrace – at least in the minds of the party hacks.

I don’t know.

But I do know that almost nobody showed up, unless we are really seeing local Dems dressed up like empty chairs and uneaten plates of salad.

They stayed away in droves.

Who knows? Maybe there’s hope for the Democrats yet, although their leaders don’t seem to be getting the message.

A while back, when Sukhee Kang was Mayor of Irvine – a city not in our State Senate district – he was caught disclosing sensitive information to the “Great Park” housing developer, going behind the backs of his colleagues.

Here’s an article that tells about it.

This was particularly embarrassing because at the time Sukhee was running for Congress,  of and not in our congressional district, naturally.

Now why would The Suke start blabbing inside info to the developer the City of Irvine was negotiating with? Hmm anybody else smell a rat?

And why does this idiot believe he can pop up in north Orange County and pretend we are going to forget all about his corrupt, incompetent past?
