“University Educator” for a Fullerton School Board?

I believe the children are the future!

Word on the street is that recent Fullerton resident and failed State Senate carpetbagger Sukhee Kang, previously Mayor of Irvine, still has the political fire in the belly.

Hmm. More vaulting ambition from the chucklehead who just blew through who-knows-how-many hundreds of thousands of dollars running for State Senate – only to come in dead last!

The rumor is that now Sukhee is contemplating running for one of the Fullerton school boards. Hell, why not all of them?

Sukhee should know by now that he has absolutely no chance at getting elected anything in Fullerton except maybe a really obscure board. And why not a school board? After all he is a self-styled “educator” and he even paid somebody to write and publish a biography for him.

Well, newsflash Suke: you are NEVER going to get elected anything in Fullerton. And next time around you are not going to have a single endorsement either – except maybe Quirk Silver. The jig is up. Please go back to Irvine ASAP.

It’ “local”. Local to somewhere!

Sukhee Kang has a little problem. How do you introduce yourself to the voters when you are trying hard as Hell to keep them from knowing you moved into their community for one reason only: to run for office.

A friend of mine got a piece of political Sukheemail yesterday and quickly recognized that while Sukhee claimed experience as a “local mayor,” he didn’t say where he was mayor, which of course was Irvine – nowhere near the 29th State Senate District.

The new address was somewhere in Fullerton. Everything else was kinda fuzzy...

Most politicians just love to talk all about their accomplishments. Poor Suhhee can’t for two very good reasons. First, his record as Mayor of Irvine was a disastrous kaleidoscope of embarrassment, carrying water for the crooked and yet remarkably inept Boss Agran.

Everybody now knows about the Great Park failure and all the attendant graft, just like they know about the $16 per ride Irvine iShuttle. Second, Sukhee can’t even mention Irvine anyhow , because if he does, he will just re-emphasize the stinky carpetbagger aroma he has cultivated around himself.

Fullerton? Why yes, I’ve heard of it…

I’ve heard on the grapevine that Democrat Party loyalists are mad at Fullerton’s Josh Newman for having the effrontery to run for State Senate against their hand-picked carpetbagger, Sukhee Kang, recently Mayor of Irvine and waster of over 200 million doubloons on the Great Park, that isn’t great, and isn’t a park, either.

Apparently, these party apparatchiks have been trying their level best to torpedo Newman’s campaign. That’s pretty unfair and mean, but these people are not without their humorous side. For instance, their plaint: why doesn’t this Newman guy run for Fullerton City Council? – as if that were some sort of obligatory stepping stone for a politician to take.

Well, that’s nonsense of course, but it got me a-thinkin’. Why doesn’t Sukhee Kang, the Irvine Escapee, who moved into Fullerton a mere 8 months ago, run for the Fullerton City Council? I mean, here’s a stooge who knows nothing about north Orange Country except that he seems to think we are ripe for his political plucking. Shouldn’t he be starting on the lowest rung?

The answer, of course, springs readily to mind: Sad Sack Sukhee couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Fullerton because nobody knows who the hell he is and he has zero record of community service here. And yet somehow Democrat party fixers and bag men in Sacramento think he’s fit to represent us in the Legislature.

 

 

The Kangaroo

Kangaroos are well-known creatures that hop from one place to another, presumably in search of greener grass, elsewhere.

No, I will not tell you what is in my pouch…

Sukhee Kang is a political kangaroo, hopping out of Irvine when he realized that the mess he made there as Larry Agran’s hapless, bobblehead third vote would never be forgotten.

And so Kang has hopped into the the 29th State Senate District where he hopes to Hell that the voters here never find out about what he did in Irvine, or that he has lived here only a scant seven months.

And that’s a Kangaroo.

The Inevitable Candidate

We all know the type – the candidate who can’t lose, the one whose early endorsements and cash grabbing have made their scampaigns irresistible. They simply can’t lose.

More often than not their candidacies are little more than empty sloganeering.   That’s because these folks don’t want to actually offend anybody by talking about a real issue or problem. Rather, they go on about their devotion to party dogma – that very party that has decided that their boy (or girl) has the stamp of official imprimatur.

We are supposed to accept these empty suits because of their very inevitability – not because they stand for anything other than their own self-advancement.

Sukhee Kang moved into our State Senate district barely seven months ago to represent us in Sacramento. Before that he left a trail of disasters behind him as Larry Agran’s bobblehead pigeon on the Irvine City Council, whose majority squandered and stole hundreds of millions on an alleged “Great Park.”

But the Democrat Party establishment has ordained that the disgraced Sukhee, despite his carpetbagging, and despite his utter leadership failure in Irvine, must be the party standard bearer.  Apart from the cynical scheme to harvest Asian votes ( a dubious enterprise at best, anyhow), the only other rationale is that Sukhee is the Man.

Well, okay, it’s not a little problem. It’s a real big one.

How do you introduce yourself to voters in a district where you are completely unknown; where you have no record in the community of any kind; and when the place place you came from is littered with disasters of the kind that kill political careers?

I addressed this issue with some friends of mine the other day, none of whom are particularly involved in local politics, but who always vote. They are registered Democrats who had never heard of Sukhee Kang.

They were frankly offended by the idea that someone with no ties to the local community would try to foist himself on them, and when the subject of Irvine came up, the discussion immediately turned to the Great Park fiasco and the loss of millions handed out to political cronies – they knew a lot about that.

So what is Sukhee going to do to portray himself in any sort of positive light? He actually has a Democrat opponent – a guy from Fullerton named Josh Newman – and we can be sure Sukhee is going to have unhappy people educating the public  about who and what he is.

Our sharp-eyed commenter, Carpetbagger, helped out yesterday with this link to an LA Times story.

It seems that State Legislature Democrats are hard at work trying to re-write the disastrous history of the Great Park. A committee has voted to spend a quarter of a million dollars auditing the audit ordered by the Irvine City Council in the wake of Irvine Mayor, Sukhee Kang’s decade-long debacle.

Of course this is an unwarranted intrusion into a purely local government affair, and it is bought and paid for by Gafcon, the San Diego contractor who was one of the great beneficiaries of the Great Pork fandango. A Democrat San Diego legislator Lorena Gonzalez is the useful tool who keeps agendizing this, even though it has nothing to do with San Diego, except that’s where Gafcon is located.

But like most political deals there is a wheel within the wheel, and in this case the State Democrat Machine is obviously hard at work to make the carpetbagging Sukhee Kang, not look quite so bad by undermining the integrity of the first audit.

Irvine councilman Jeff Lalloway hits the nail on the head:

“Former (Irvine) Mayor Sukhee Kang, a Democrat, is now running for state Senate, and he does not come off well in the audit report. I think Democrats at the state level are working together to minimize the damage to his campaign.”

It smacks of desperation and it won’t help.

Regardless of the details of either audit, one bald, inescapable fact will always exist: Sukhee Kang and his pals  burned through $250,000,000 with virtually nothing to show for it. And there’s no way the Sacramento bag men can catch that pig long enough to put lipstick on it.

Working the Aisle

Here’s a fun bit of Sukhee slush, harvested from an old Register editorial in 2011 when Suke had decided to run for Congress – not in our congressional district, of course. And of course he eventually lost badly.

Here’s the gem: “The mayor says his years working in customer service (he managed a Circuit City) will help him ‘work both sides of the aisle.'”

Presumably this means being able to play nice with everybody, and not just demonstrating a knowledge of both toaster ovens and computer peripherals.

Still, there is something telling here. Salesmen have to be nice, they have to agree with the disagreeable and they have to push a product. This is not leadership this is retail marketing.

And here’s a disturbing quotation that seems to confirm everything we already know about the Sukester:

“Mayor Kang always has a smile on his face and scripted line about any topic you can bring up. But voters prefer conviction to platitudes, even if they disagree with what is being said.”

The vacant smile, bland platitudes, and an underlying belief that what is best for Sukhee is what is best for all of us – the unpleasant aroma of the desperate, perpetual candidate emanates therefrom.
