Okay, this is just a little weird in a funny way. And desperate.
We know that politicians are always talking up their military experience, if they have any; and sometime fabricating it if they don’t.
A campaign advisor must have told Mr. Sukhee Kang that he really needed to remind voters in the 29th State Senate District that he is a veteran. It might help – after all Sukhee has only lived in Fullerton a few months, nobody knows who he is, and everybody loves a vet, right? Sukee’s website devotes an entire section to dwell upon Sukhee’s military service.
The odd thing about this pitch is that Sukhee didn’t serve in our army; he was a non-com soldier in the 70s during the South Korean regime of Park Chung-hee, a quasi-dictator (later assassinated) whose government demanded compulsory military conscription. Now, to be fair, Sukhee isn’t hiding the fact that he didn’t serve in our military, but he’s trying real hard to make his experience relevant.
Somehow, some cynical campaign consultant believes this poofed-up narrative of an utterly unremarkable record can be used to prove Sukhee’s patriotism, devotion to duty, and even more tenuously, his affinity with American servicemen.
I am reminded of how in Irvine, Sukhee’s former running buddies – Agran and Krom pretended to be all gung-ho about a military cemetery at the Great Park, when in reality they just wanted to stall and embarrass the new council majority that got stuck with their 10 years of Great Park corruption and mismanagement. Of course their sympathies seem to be more with exploitable dead veterans than with living ones.

I saw that too. It’s really pretty comical. Sukhee is some sort of grunt trudging around in somebody else’s army for a couple years and Hey Presto! Sergeant York!

In reality there is almost nothing exceptional about Sukhee except his endless ambition for political office. He is EXACTLY like Anaheim Embarrassment – Harry Sidhu.

After a quick visit to Sukhee’s website I noticed a cunning little turn of phrase that really reinforces my view that this miscreant’s military service, such as it is, isn’t being pitched honestly.
Get this phrase: “Sukhee Kang is a veteran, having performed his military service in the Republic of Korea (South Korean)”
Lots of real American veterans performed their military service in the Republic of Korea (South – not to be confused with Naughty North). Sukhee performed his for the Republic of Korea.

This is probably costing Suhkee a pretty penny.
Garry South managed Davis’ campaigns for California lieutenant governor in 1994 and governor in 1998 and 2002. He advised on campaigns for Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and Joe Lieberman.
Garry South is a well known and widely sought after campaign manager. He has been dubbed “the Carville of California” by the New York Times.
Yawn… still not going to work.
Suhkee could bring on the Pope to help him with his campaign for all I care. Suhkee’s record of incompetence can’t be scrubbed clean.

Sukhee Kang didn’t serve in our army so why even mention about his military experience?! He is not our true hero anyways since he is working hard just to change our constitution and laws since I am a moderate Democrat doesn’t mean that I believe that we should repeal the right to bear arms for example. I’m pretty sure that Sukhee Kang is going to gain criticism about his military experience that he did not serve in the American army by some voters throughout North Orange County. A true veteran is a type of hero who fights for our freedom and our rights for free speech for example. Kang just wants to take our rights away from us.
