Our little blog was scarcely a few days old when we lamented the absence of a Democrat opponent for the carpetbagging Sukhee Kang, recent resident of Irvine who decided he was willing and able to represent us in State Senate District 29. Sukhee is willing, no doubt about that. Able? Not so much.
Josh Newman
Anyway, several folks have pointed us in the direction of a guy named Josh Newman who has decided to challenge the miscreant Sukhee for the Democrat vote in next year’s election.
I don’t know much about Mr. Newman at this point, except that he has actually lived in the district for quite some time, and that fact alone warrants consideration. The introductory video on his website looks and sounds promising.

I’m glad we have an alternative. Somebody’s got to crack down on carpetbagging and parading around meaningless endorsements.
I hope Newman will start flushing out important issues on his website so we can start flushing Sukhee Kang and his ilk out of politics.

All this guy needs to do is out poll Kang in June to move on. It’s an open primary and with his military background he could bring in a lot of Republican votes. The other two seem to have been cynically chosen mostly for their potential appeal to Asian voters, despite compromised backgrounds and zero record of accomplishment.

The choice of Kang and the Republican – Ling-Ling Something seems to be based on a high degree of cynicism. But that’s party politics for you.
The strategy is that the Asian vote is the tipping factor after the other vote has broken very closely.
Newman could get a fair number of Republican votes and beat out Sukhee in June.
